Frequently asked questions

Why does Analog need Screen Time permission?

Analog uses Apple's Screen Time framework to read your device activity and turn it into usage summaries, scores, and insights. This data is processed on your device. Without the permission, Analog has no activity data to work with.

Why does Analog ask to connect Apple Health?

If you choose to connect Apple Health, Analog reads metrics like sleep, activity, and heart rate to surface correlations between your phone use and the rest of your life. Health access is read-only and optional, and your health data never leaves your device.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and select Analog. You can also cancel from the App Store app. Cancelling at least 24 hours before the end of the current period prevents renewal.

How do I restore a previous purchase?

Open the upgrade screen inside Analog and tap Restore Purchase. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account you used for the original purchase.

How do I delete my data?

Open Analog, go to Settings, then Privacy Center, and tap Delete Account. That deletes your account and its data from our servers, wipes the data stored on your device, and resets the app. Note that uninstalling the app on its own removes the data on your device but does not delete your account on our servers, so use Delete Account if you want everything gone.

What data leaves my device?

Screen Time activity is read and processed on your device. Once you sign in, Analog also uploads usage summaries (daily and hourly screen time, pickups, app and category usage, and your scores) to your private account so your history syncs and so friend and benchmark comparisons work. Your name and email are never used. Apple Health data is read-only and never leaves your device. You can stop uploading at any time with the Sync & Compare toggle in Privacy Center.
